You have questions... we have answers:
Do the plastic caps and concrete discs have anything to do with my septic system? Yes they do. They could be clean outs in the sewer line, inspection ports for the septic tank, cesspool access, distribution box location, drainfield lateral risors or observation pipes for the drainfield.
Can McGovern help me to make sure that I am using and maintaining my septic system properly? Yes. A regular Maintenance Program will not only hel prevent system problems before they occur, it can assure you that your system is functioning properly so you can relax knowing that everything is working as it should be. The proper usage of any septic system by you, the owner, is crucial on a daily basis.
Is routine maintenance required for my septic system to work efficiently? Yes. Some counties/local municipalities require that service be performed on a two or three year basis.
Can you test my septic system to see if it is working properly? Yes. We can perform a free Septic System Evaluation or, if requested, a complete PSMA/NOF Septic Certification.
Should I be concerned when buying an existing home with a septic system? Yes. You should call us to test and certify the existing septic system. We will inspect the system, and run an Hydraulic Load Test to make sure it is working properly. If it passes the system will be given a PSMA/NOF Septic Certification.
I have been told that my septic system is failing. Can you tell me what to do? Yes, but first we would conduct an On-Site Evaluation and Customer Consultation to verify the system condition. If the system is failing, we would recommend the proper course of action in order to proceed with your replacement options.
Can you tell me what determines how big a new drainfield will need to be? Yes. After conducting Soil Testing/Test Pit Analysis and a positive percolation test which will determine the rate at which liquids are absorbed, we factor this data along with the daily water usage to establish the new drain field size requirements.
Can you help me comply with any and all state and local regulations? Yes. We take care of everything right from testing, system layout and design and permit processing for all types of residential septic and waste disposal systems.
